Domaine LESCURE

Founded in 1975 by Chantal Lescure and Xavier Machard de Gramont, Domaine Chantal Lescure is a family vineyard that today belongs to their two sons: Aymeric and Thibault Machard de Gramont. Owner harvesting 18 hectares of vineyards in appellations of controlled origin, Domaine Chantal Lescure extends from Chambolle-Musigny in Côte de Nuits to Meursault in Côte de Beaune. It was in 1996 that Aymeric Machard de Gramont took over the management of the estate and questioned how to work the vines. François Chavériat is then hired as “maître de chaî” and directs the vineyard to organic farming since 1997. Today, the entire estate is certified organic viticulture. The wines of Domaine Chantal Lescure are expressive with powerful tannins, but also fine. They require a few years of care before delivering all their qualities.

At Domaine Chantal Lescure, wines are elaborated without artifice, with the greatest respect for nature. Harvesting is done manually at optimum maturity. No crushing is practiced following destemming and the vatting is done by gravity. After a cold maceration of a few days and light pigeages, the indigenous yeasts begin the semi-carbonic fermentation which ends in juice after pressing the grapes. Finally a long aging on the lees of 16 to 20 months takes place in the cold cellars of the domain.

Côte de Beaune

“Le Clos des Topes Bizots”

Aromas of ripe fruit, raspberry currant.  Very silky tannins, elegance and a very long spicy finish.

Pommard

“Les Vignots”

A palette of red and black fruits (blackberry, blueberry, gooseberry, cherry kernel, ripe plum). Leather, spicy and wild notes are also present. Superb pommard all in power and delicacy in a very Burgundy vintage.

Beaune 1er Cru

“Les Chouacheux”

The nose reveals notes of red fruits, even black fruits and mocha. The palate is structured and elegant, around tannins that will however require a few years of cellar to melt.

Pommard 1er Cru

“Les Bertins”

A nose distilling aromas of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant) and vanilla. Aging, it will take notes of leather, chocolate, pepper and a little animal. The palate is powerful, silky, complex and racy. The final is long.
